On Monday, I withdrew a chunk of cash from the bank.

I am some latent "prepper" tendencies, so I was pretty well set up for the uncertainty of this week.

I put the folded bills under a large white pillar candle with an election protection prayer carved into it and put it on my home altar. The deal was that if Biden won, all of the money would be donated - with joy and not with panic for the first time in 4 years. And if he lost, it would still all be donated, because the fight doesn't stop.

I'm so thrilled to say that I get to make a donation to Fair Fight Action Fund, led by Stacey Abrams. The relentless work of Stacey and the other Black and brown leaders across the country ensured that Georgia, my home state, went blue for the first time in decades. Never in my life did I expect to wake up and see those numbers. Could it be that Georgia isn't a true red state, but a voter suppressed state?! So much hard work and tears went into this effort and I am overjoyed to see it happen.

But the work doesn't stop here. I'll have lots more to say about this soon, so stay tuned, but today we rest and celebrate - but tomorrow we get up and keep pushing for JUSTICE, to make this place a more perfect union, to bring the idea of the beloved community into the highest offices of our nation.
